I have been resisting the urge to share this one until it’s done but it is just too awesome not to share. This shower is stunning. I have been wanting to use this iigen quartzite for a while. Just needed the perfect project for it. I love how the center slab looks like crashing waves. This is a pretty big project so it will be a few more weeks before I can share the rest but I just had to share.

Tiny transformative places are my jam. When my client approached me about this bathroom, she gave me wishlist for a bigger shower and a tub within the footprint of the existing space. The solution to this little Zen retreat was to incorporate a small round soaker tub and a larger shower. What a transformation.

This little moment in Garnish, Ireland is such a lovely reminder of the joy of being in my element. This picture captures a lot about me. Surrounded by nature, and weathered architecture that connects that past and present The quiet feeling. Completely in the moment with my traveling art supplies and paint covered weathered jeans. These are the moments in my life that I treasure the most. Those nomadic journeys of self exploration with no timeline, no priority other than being present. I can pause for as long as I like and am free from the distractions of all external sources except those that stimulate the sensory experience of place and time.

The week is coming to a close. It has been another wild one. Beautiful, hard, inspiring, physically exhausting, and magical. A yearning for a shift is on my mind though. The contemplation of change is in the air as I creep closer to another birthday in a few weeks. Taking this quiet time in the morning to be present in the feeling of it as the sun rises outside the tall window illuminating one of many happy places I have in my life. Creativity has such a beautiful way of moving you in many directions. It is limitless. The coming months shall reveal some interesting changes in the next chapter. Feeling some sense of relief in it and the feeling of wonder I often chase through life. So here is to contemplating the beautiful unknown in the future ahead.

Your master bedroom should be a sanctuary. This master suite was such a fun project to work on. The vertical pattern grasscloth wallpaper creates a sense of calm and picks up the colors in the floor tile in the bathroom. The bathroom has a clean and airy feel and incorporates a dressing area, vanity for 2, place for the kitty box, shower, and toilet room. Proving that a smaller linear style bath can be functional and beautiful.

There is something about the changing light of the morning in those quiet little spaces. The illuminated little paths of light that shift as the sun rises are like a gentle reminder that the direction you choose for the day is always changing and that permanence is in the place and not the journey through it.

A little behind the scenes look this week at this coastal bedroom project I am working on in Rehoboth Beach. I popped over to faux finish the ceiling to look like white washed wood to warm up the space. Next comes the stone of the new fireplace and paint on the walls and trim. How peaceful is this space going to be!?! If this were my bedroom I might never leave! Stay tuned for more as this space comes together.

Yay for window day!!!! This beach house bedroom is going to be the beesnees!! So exciting to start to see the view. One step closer to closing up those walls and working on the fun finish details!!

After a year long wait for our reservation we finally gathered at Talula’s Table for an amazing dinner. Such a great group to share the evening with.

One step closer to wrapping up this bathroom. This was a very complicated space to design. Its Y shape created some unique challenges. The glass doors worked out nicely in this placement. To create the illusion that it was bigger I pushed the upper walls back and rather than tiling the walls finished all the walls with a waterproof Tadalakt plaster. To complement the original stone walls in the other areas of the basement, additional stone was added to the recessed areas. There are just a few more things to do and this space will be complete.

What an awesome Chaine event at Birchrunhills Farm. Sue is such an amazing artisan cheese maker and it’s always such a pleasure to come out to her farm. How fun it was to try her cheeses pair with a variety of beer 🍺. The meal was so delicious. Probably one of my favorite Delaware Valley Chaine events. @birchrunhills
